Q: What time in the construction process should we contact you?

A: There is no charge for a preliminary design consultation so earlier the better. Depending on the complexity of your needs it may be beneficial to start the conversation prior to drafting final construction plans. Mechanical, Media, and Theater rooms can often benefit from our input to ensure the room or cabinets are optimized for thermal management, Acoustics and physical layout of our devices.

Q: When do you start running wire in a new home?

A: We like to come in just before the Electrician has finished. Ideally the Electrician should have all of his cans and boxes set prior to our team starting.

Q: What is home automation?

A: A properly designed home automation system streamlines and simplifies the operation of many different subsystems in today's modern home. Home automation can be something as simple as turning on or off lights at a certain time, or providing you a single button on your mobile device that turns on multiple speakers throughout the home to your favorite Pandora station. Home automation can do more sophisticated tasks such as automatically turning on all the TV's  in the home to show the gate camera automatically when someone arrives at the gate. Or programming a single button press to shut off all the lights and arm the security system enabling any easy way to exit your home.  All of these examples simplify operations or automate steps that would normally have to be manually done by the homeowner.

Q: Why should I pre-wire my home? Isn't everything wireless now?

A: While wireless technology has come a long way over the last decade wired network, sound, and video connections still performer better and is vastly more reliable than their wireless counter parts. For critical system components wired connections are always the best way to go.

Q: If i'm buying quality equipment why would I need a maintenance contract?

A:Here is the reality. Almost every modern entertainment device used in the home today is a little computer, and like any computer they periodically can be temperamental. Sometimes these devices just need to be restarted, sometimes they may need to have software or firmware updates installed, but regardless the price of the equipment at some point its going to need some attention to keep it running smoothly. The service agreements lewis offers have different levels of service depending on your individual needs. By doing regular schedule maintenance we can ensure that your system is always working to the best of its ability. Even better is that with these service contracts we actively monitor the health of many critical system components remotely. Remote monitoring gives us the ability to catch and fix many common problems before you are even aware there was an issue.
